We are looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy Information Technology Manager who will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring that computing systems and equipment are operating effectively and efficiently.
Your Role
As a Deputy IT manager, you will work closely with the rest of our team to ensure that our company is using the most up-to-date technology to run our business. You will be responsible for ensuring that the hardware and software used by our company is compatible, secure, and scalable. You will also be responsible for managing our internal network and providing support for our staff.
Your Team
As the Deputy IT Manager, you will be reporting directly to the IT Manager based in the country of operation, as well as the Head of IT based in our Editec offices in France, and guiding a dedicated team of IT Engineers on the field in our operations based in Africa.
Responsibilities
- Proactively manage and oversee the daily operations and maintenance of our in-house systems.
- Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
- Provide support and technical assistance, investigate user problems, identify causes, and determine solutions.
- Install computer hardware and cabling to support new users and/or systems.
- Modify and test systems to implement solutions that ensure all computer related matters operate reliably.
- Develop and implement policies related to network security, disaster recovery, and IT infrastructure.
- Develop and administer instructions and/or conduct training for system users on operating systems, relational databases, and other applications.
- Recommend the selection and acquisition of hardware, software, and IT-related services and equipment.
- Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored, or accessed by the network.
- Remain up to date with advances in technology and industry best practices.
- Assume and perform/responsibilities as assigned.
About You
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT Management.
- Technical Skills
- Strong SQL database skills (preferably Microsoft SQL 2008/2014/2017).
- Strong operating system management (windows server 2012,2016/ windows 10).
- Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems.
- Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation.
- Knowledge of IP network switches and routers, wireless networks, TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP.
- Demonstrable, hands-on experience on troubleshooting, LAN, WAN and VPN technologies.
- Soft Skills
- Confident in decision-making.
- Management and leadership skills.
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to manage personnel and foster teamwork.
- Proficiency in French.
